THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN THE OTHER THREE BOOKS

There are SEVERAL PAINTINGS in the upcoming books that tell a little bit about the feelings, motives and situations that the various characters find themselves in. So, if you know your art history, these famous paintings of “THE MASTERS” will give additional insight into the minds of the characters in each panel.

The presence of SYMBOLISM is pronounced throughout the entire series of “CRY WOLF”. KURT’S SECRETARY, EMMA, wears a CHRISTIAN CROSS representing her faith and purity. KURT’S detective friend, WARCHEK, wears a PENTAGRAM around his neck in the afterlife. THE CHRISTIAN CROSS appears above the inside doorway of DECTECTIVE WARCHEK’S house. Also above his doorway are the curious LETTER X’S and the DATE OF 1924, both to be explained at a later time.

Several movie posters appear on the walls of STORNHAUSER’S AERODROME. These posters are of actual films that played at the movie theaters in 1925.

Many of the physical structures that once graced the landscape of 1925 Chicago are no longer present. One item in particular is the magnificent GREEK REVIVAL FOUNTAIN that stood proudly on the grounds of GRANT PARK. In book three, KURT waits at the FOUNTAIN for the arrival of his friend, DETECTIVE WARCHEK. Unfortunately, that meeting proves to be their last.

Pay close attention to the articles in STORNHAUSER’S possession. Since
he works for the DEPARTMENT OF WAR, which was the name of the DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE before W.W.II, you may notice several interesting items scattered about the place. Some of these items, such as the MARTIAN WALKER, may appear in subsequent tales of “CRY WOLF.” Don’t be surprised if a TIME MACHINE comes into play.
